Privacy First — How We Handle Your Selfie

What we promise, in plain language

Your face is the most personal data point you have. The whole product depends on you trusting us with it for a few minutes. We take that seriously. Here is what actually happens, end to end.

What we do with your selfie

  1. Upload over HTTPS to private object storage. No public URL. No third-party CDN sees your file.
  2. Read once during generation to give the AI a reference for what you look like.
  3. Pass through identity verification on every generated frame — making sure the person in each photo is still you.
  4. Delete after 24 hours, automatically, by a scheduled job. The original is gone.

What we never do

  • We never train AI on your selfie. It is not in our training data. It is not shared with any model vendor for training. The reference is used only for your generation, only at request time.
  • We never sell your data. No advertiser, no broker, no analytics company gets the file.
  • We never use it for face recognition outside your account. No "find this face on the internet" features. Not now, not later.
  • We never keep deleted data in backups. The 24-hour deletion includes our object-storage tier. Backups roll over within the same window.

What you control

  • Request immediate deletion by emailing support@sceneself.com — we'll confirm within 24–48 hours.
  • Export your account including past generated photo sets, on request.
  • Close your account with full data wipe, on request.

Why the 24-hour window

We can't generate without a reference photo, so we hold it just long enough to finish your set and run quality checks. 24 hours is the maximum buffer we need; most generations finish within minutes and the selfie sits idle for the rest. The job that deletes runs hourly.

If you'd rather have your selfie gone the moment generation finishes, email us — we can do it manually. The default is 24 hours because it's the only way to handle edge cases (failed generations, queue retries) without making you re-upload.

Beyond the selfie

The generated photos belong to you. We do not claim copyright. Download them, post them, sell prints if you want — it's your face, it's your set.

The metadata around your account (email, plan, credit balance, generation timestamps) follows our Privacy Policy. We use it only to run the service, never to profile you.
